2008 Wimbledon Championships – Women's Singles

Venus Williams was the defending champion, and won in the final 7–5, 6–4, against her sister Serena Williams. This was Venus's second grand slam singles title without losing a set.

Zheng Jie became the first Chinese player (male or female) to reach the Grand Slam semifinal, after having defeated World No. 1 and first seed Ana Ivanovic in the third round.
