This was the 7th edition of the World Grand Prix. Sky Bet were the new sponsors. In the first round finalists for the previous 2 years were knocked out. Phil Taylor was knocked out by Andy Callaby while John Part lost to Ronnie Baxter. Colin Lloyd won the tournament beating former winner Alan Warriner 7-3 in the final.
