The 1989 StormSeal UK Championship was a professional ranking snooker tournament that took place between 25 November and 3 December 1989 at the Guild Hall in Preston, England. The televised stages were shown live on BBC. StormSeal became the new sponsor of the UK Championship. The highest break of the tournament was 138 made by Steve Davis.

Defending champion Doug Mountjoy lost in the last 64 against rookie player Joe O'Boye. While the 1988 runner-up Stephen Hendry won his first of five UK titles by defeating six times winner Steve Davis 16–12 and it took him on course for the world number on spot in the rankings.
