Trailing 79-76 with under a minute remaining in overtime, Terry Mills hit a turnaround 11-footer to cut the Seton Hall lead to 79-78. After a defensive stop, Rumeal Robinson was fouled by Gerald Greene with three seconds left in overtime. Rumeal Robinson would then make both free throws and then, a last-second shot by Seton Hall came up short and Michigan won their 1st national championship.
