The 1985 Coral UK Championship was a professional ranking snooker tournament that took place at the Guild Hall in Preston, England. The event began on 15 November 1985 and the televised stages were shown on BBC between 25 November and 1 December 1985. The highest break of the televised stages was 135 made by Neal Foulds and the same of the non-televised stages was 140 made by Willie Thorne.

Steve Davis won his fourth UK Championship, coming back from 13–8 down against Willie Thorne, after Thorne missed a straight blue from its spot in the first frame of the final session that would have seen him take a 14–8 lead.

Stephen Hendry, aged sixteen, made his début in the tournament, but lost his first qualifying round match 2–9 to Omprakesh Agrawal.
