The 1983 Cincinnati Bengals season was the team's 16th year in professional football and its 14th with the National Football League (NFL).

The Bengals started the season by losing six of their first seven games and finished 9-7. Despite the record, the Bengals claimed the top overall defense in the NFL. In the offseason, Forrest Gregg resigned as head coach and Sam Wyche was named as his replacement.
