The 1978 Cork Senior Hurling Championship was the 90th staging of the Cork Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Cork County Board in 1887. The championship ended on 22 October 1978.

The championship was won by Blackrock who secured the title following a 4-12 to 1-7 defeat of Glen Rovers in the final. This was their 27th championship title, their fourth in seven years.

St. Finbarr's were the defending champions.
