The 1936 International Lawn Tennis Challenge was the 31st edition of what is now known as the Davis Cup. Argentina was the only South American team to enter, so the South American Zone was abandoned, and the Americas played as one Zone (however, Argentina would play in Europe). 19 teams would enter the Europe Zone, while 4 would enter the Americas Zone.

Australia defeated the United States in the Americas Zone. The Australians then defeated Germany in the Inter-Zonal play-off, but would fall to Great Britain in the Challenge Round. The final was played at Centre Court in Wimbledon, London, England on 25–28 July.
