The 1st Central American and Caribbean Games were held in Mexico City, Mexico, at Estadio Nacional from October 30 to November 2, 1926. It featured 269 athletes from three countries (Mexico, Cuba and Guatemala), competing in nine sports: athletics, basketball, baseball, diving, fencing, shooting, swimming, tennis, and volleyball.
