The 1925–26 Scottish Third Division was never completed as some teams were unable to complete their fixtures due to financial difficulties. as a result the championship was never awarded. As a result, Division Three was scrapped and did not return until 1946-47 season. However Forfar Athletic were promoted to the Scottish Second Division.
