"Grip", or "(Get A) Grip (On Yourself)", is a single by The Stranglers from the album Rattus Norvegicus. The Stranglers' first single, it reached number 44 in the UK Singles Chart. The song was written by Hugh Cornwell, and featured Welsh coal miner Eric Clark on saxophone.

Cover versions

  • In 1991, the heavy metal band Prong released a cover of the song on their album Prove You Wrong, and a remix on their 1992 EP Whose Fist Is this Anyway?
  • In 2009, the bonus tracks of Graffiti Soul by Simple Minds, featured a cover of the song along with other covers.
  • In 2010, the "USA Tour" edition of the Nouvelle Vague album, 3, featured a cover of the song.
