Kashmala Tariq (Urdu: کشمالہ طارق ) (born January 24, 1972, in Lahore) is a Pakistani politician and lawyer who served as a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from 2002 till 2012. Educated as a corporate lawyer at Punjab Law College and the London School of Economics. Tariq worked with Mandviwalla & Zafar beforing joining politics.

    Kashmala Tariq has been an ardent and very vocal human rights activist all along, other than being a corporate lawyer.She is also involved in Human Rights and much of her work in politics have centered around this issue. She introduced two bills regarding women in parliament, on honour killings and amendments to the Hudood Ordinance respectively. She is among the critics of the Hudood Ordinance and questions its legitimacy in Islamic theology as claimed by the proponents. She identifies laws on gender discrimination and domestic violence among her priority issues and criticizes the feudal mindset along with a male-dominated culture as hindering progress and laws in these areas. Tariq had suggested 3 amendments related to the issue of Wali (legal male guardian), compound-ability and the remission of sentence but the opposition, i.e. MMA and Law Minister Wasi Zafar opposed the bill calling it "un-islamic". Facing lots of controversies in the Politics of Pakistan because of her principal stands and voicing out for the weak and under privileged.

    She is an alumna of the London School of Economics. While studying in LSE in London she was elected as the President of student’s union. She was one of the founding members of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf (PTI) and became the Chief Coordinator for Europe and UK in 1998. She is 1st and only Pakistani who won a political election outside Pakistan as the Chairperson of Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians (CWP) from 2007–2010. Where 53 countries voted for her.she worked for a famous corporate law firm Mandviwalla and Zafar headed by S.M Zafar, for about a decade. Now she has her own chamber by the name of Kashmala and Associates.

    She got elected twice as member parliament, and served for 10 years (2002–2012). She was the Executive Director and Chairperson of Parliamentarians Commission for Human Rights. On September 24, 2007, she was elected to chair the Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians from 2007 to 2010. Kashmala was the SOLE voice in a house of 342, who voted against the famous 19th (Dec 22, 2010) and 20th (Jan 14, 2012) amendments in the constitution of Pakistan. She served on the committees of National Assembly, Finance, Trade & Commerce and Law Justice and Human Rights for 10 years. In July 2011, Tariq was a candidate for the Chairperson of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association.
