William H. Thomas was a legislator of the Wisconsin Territory and a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly.

Biography

Thomas was born on September 25, 1821 in Clinton County, New York. During the American Civil War, he served with the 3rd Wisconsin Volunteer Cavalry Regiment of the Union Army, achieving the rank of captain. He died in 1898.

Political career

Thomas was a member of the Assembly during the 1849 and 1861 sessions. Previously, he had been a member of the Wisconsin Territorial Legislature in 1846. Later, Thomas was elected District Attorney of Waukesha County, Wisconsin in 1879. He was a Democrat.
