Province No. 5

Province No. 5 is the provisional designation of one of the provinces established by the new constitution of Nepal which was adopted on 20 September 2015. Constitutional amendments proposed in December 2016 would remove six northern hill districts from Province No. 5 and allocate them to Province No. 4 and Province No. 6.

Districts

The province is made up of the following districts:

  1. Arghakhanchi District*
  2. Baglung District (western part)
  3. Banke District
  4. Bardiya District
  5. Dang Deukhuri District
  6. Gulmi District*
  7. Kapilvastu District
  8. Nawalparasi District (west of Bardaghat Susta)
  9. Palpa District*
  10. Pyuthan District*
  11. Rolpa District*
  12. Rukum District (eastern part)*
  13. Rupandehi District

* - denotes the districts that are proposed to be re-allocated to Province No. 4 and Province No. 6
