History

Driving-Tests.org was founded in 2008 by Andrei Zakhareuski and Maryna Zakhareuskaya under the company name of Elegant E-Learning, Inc. The site was originally launched offering simulation software for electronic permit tests for the United States. The website has sponsored various studies that have led to national driver's safety campaigns including Parent-Teen Driving Contract and the Distraction-Free Driving Pledge.

Platform

The website provides state-specific practice tests written by experts. Each test is 25 to 50 questions and contain hints and explanations for each. It has a total of seven practice tests, one motorcycle test, and commercial driving tests. The site also provides driver's license manuals for each state in English as well as Spanish. Driving-Tests.org incorporates BrowseAloud into its site, allowing for site accessibility through text magnification, having on screen sections read aloud, and page translation into other languages.

Driving-Tests.org expanded its offerings by using its software to develop additional websites in the field of driver's education. One such site, G1.ca, allows drivers from Ontario to take simulated G1 practice tests.
